When Do You Need Emergency Boarding Up?
After a break-in or burglary
A forced entry often leaves a door frame splintered, a door panel smashed, or a window broken. Once the police have attended and you’ve reported the incident to your insurer, the property needs to be physically secured before you can leave it unattended, or in some cases, before you can safely re-enter it.
We’ll board up the affected area immediately and, where possible, carry out a proper lock repair or replacement on the same visit.
After an attempted break-in

Windows
Broken or smashed windows, including single-, double-, and UPVC-glazed units, are boarded up to prevent access and weather ingress. We take care to remove loose glass safely before boarding and will advise on whether the frame can be retained for a glazier’s repair or needs replacement.
Glazed door panels
Many front and back doors have glazed panels that, if broken, render the door’s security ineffective, since the lock can be reached through the broken glass. We prioritise these in our assessment, boarding the panel from both sides where possible to restore a meaningful level of security to the door.
Garage doors
Garage doors that have been forced or damaged can often leave the garage and any internal access to the house unsecured. We can board and secure garage door openings and advise on lock repair or replacement for the internal connecting door.
